TOGY announces partnership with SKK Migas and MEMR

TOGY partners with SKK Migas and MEMR

JAKARTA, August 14, 2017 – The Oil & Gas Year (TOGY) is proud to announce that it formed a partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) of the Republic of Indonesia on August 10, 2017. The agreement follows TOGY’s signing of a partnership with Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas regulator SKK Migas on August 7, 2017.

The two leading industry authorities are offering their official support to the production and publication of The Oil & Gas Year Indonesia 2018 book and associated interactive data on the www.TOGYiN.com portal.

Ignasius Jonan, the minister of energy and mineral resources, told TOGY how the book will promote the MEMR’s latest innovation – a variation on the production-sharing contract called the gross split production-sharing contract – which aims to balance the demands of contractors and producers with the ministry’s objective of maximising the financial benefit for the people of  Indonesia. “Those efforts to attract oil and gas investment will be elaborated in The Oil & Gas Year Indonesia 2018,” he said.

Amien Sunaryadi, the chairman of SKK Migas, described this national strategy in an interview. “The key is how to make this industry more efficient, work faster and work together with all players,” he said.

“We need to increase production as we reduce costs and eliminate constraints in the market to attract more foreign investment,” Sunaryadi said, highlighting assurances to PSC contractors to minimise operational issues and tighten governance and transparency. “We expect that the gross split type of PSC will be more attractive to investors since it will provide a certain level of cost reduction, shorter lead time from exploration to development, and a more upfront and definitive split between government and the contractors,” he added.

“In its fourth annual edition dedicated to oil and gas sector in Indonesia, The Oil & Gas Year plans to tell the story of the country’s oil and gas sector through the eyes of the country’s leading executives working across the business supply chain.”

TOGY Indonesia 2018 will be TOGY’s fourth book on the market. While the ministry has partnered with TOGY in previous years, this is SKK Migas’ first time pledging its support for a TOGY book.
