TotalEnergies heightens focus on Suriname

PARAMARIBO, May 5, 2023 – TotalEnergies is progressing field development of the offshore Block 58 in Suriname, partner APA Corporation announced in its Q1 2023 results on Wednesday.
The partners are currently analysing the Krabdagu-2 flow tests and drilling the Krabdagu-3 appraisal well.
The block is estimated to contain more than 800 million barrels of oil.
In June 2022, APA Corporation hit positive results from a flow test at the Krabdagu-1 exploration well on the concession utilising the Maersk Valiant drillship.
Block 58 is a 50:50 venture by APA Corporation and TotalEnergies.
APA Corporation posted net profits of USD 242 million in Q1 2023, a fall from USD 1.9 billion in the same quarter in 2022.
TotalEnergies posted adjusted profits of USD 6.5 billion for Q1 2023 in April 2023.
