TotalEnergies inks SAF supply deal with Airbus

France
TotalEnergies has signed an agreement to supply sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to Airbus, the energy giant announced on Thursday.

Volumes supplied by TotalEnergies will cover more than half of Airbus’s needs in Europe. Details on the precise volumes were not released.

The two companies also agreed to collaborate on a research and innovation programme to develop 100% sustainable fuels.

TotalEnergies has been supplying the SAF used by Airbus for its aircraft deliveries in Toulouse since 2016. The company has set an overall annual production target of 1.5 million tonnes of SAF by 2030.

“The development of sustainable aviation fuels is at the heart of our company’s transition strategy,” TotalEnergies chairman and CEO Patrick Pouyanné said.
