Wärtsilä to supply power plant equipment to Iran
Iran The company will work with Iran’s Baran Niroo Beshel Company and Tamin Niroo Saam Company on the two baseload plants, one with a capacity of 29 MW and the other with a capacity of 19 MW.
“This is a breakthrough project as Wärtsilä is supplying the first decentralised power plants of its kind to Iran, showing results from our efforts to support the Iranian power generation market in its transition towards more flexible and smarter technologies,” the company said.
Wärtsilä expects to deliver the gensets in Q3 2017. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Iranian power generation giant Tavanir will be the offtaker for the plants’ output.
