The contract is for three years, with a two-year extension option.
The two companies have a recent history of collaboration. In 2016, BP handed Wood Group a five-year contract worth USD 50 million for engineering, procurement and construction management in Azerbaijan. A year before that, the UK oil and gas firm signed a contract with Wood Group for engineering work on subsea infrastructure in the Gulf of Mexico, UK, Norway and Azerbaijan.
Currently, Wood Group and Samsung Heavy Industries are working on BP’s Mad Dog 2 project in the Gulf of Mexico.
