Wood Group has clinched a multi-million-dollar contract from US engineering company Bechtel for automation services at Kazakhstan’s Tengiz field, the Aberdeen-based oil services provider said in a company statement Wednesday.

HOUSTON, October 7, 2015 – Wood Group has clinched a multi-million-dollar contract from US engineering company Bechtel for automation services at Kazakhstan’s Tengiz field, the Aberdeen-based oil services provider said in a company statement Wednesday.

Under the contract, Wood Group will provide detailed engineering, control hardware and remote instrument enclosures for the Tengizchevroil Crude Storage Capacity Project. The aim of the project is to expand the tank farm’s capacity, and the Wood Group will help in updating and expanding the project’s control infrastructure.

 

The Tengizchevroil Crude Storage Capacity Project is a joint venture with ExxonMobil (25 percent), Russia’s Lukoil (5 percent) and state oil company KazmunaiGaz (20 percent).

The exact value of the contract has not yet been disclosed.
