ADNOC awards BGP $519-mln seismic deal

Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, November 30, 2020 – Abu Dhabi’s ADNOC has awarded a 3D-seismic contract expansion worth USD 519 million to BGP, a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Company.

BGP is represented in the UAE by local firm Al Masaood Oil Industry Supplies & Services Company.

The deal, announced late last week, will expand the scope of a project termed the world’s largest combined 3D onshore and offshore seismic survey.

The survey has already contributed to the huge reserves addition announced by Abu Dhabi’s Supreme Petroleum Council last week, which counted an estimated 22 billion barrels of onshore unconventional oil resources as well as 2 billion barrels of conventional oil.
