Baker Hughes leverages its global expertise and centres of excellence to address the challenges faced by our customers in Kuwait. We have participated in recent studies on unconventional reservoirs and work closely with customers to apply our extensive experience and best practices.
Our reservoir technical services division has a team of well and subsurface specialists covering all the key disciplines. The geomechanics team within this division offers best-in-class technical capabilities to address a wide range of unconventional challenges and help mitigate risks throughout the lifecycle of hydrocarbons reservoirs.
To solve complex tasks quickly, we take a digital approach powered by AI and machine learning, while adhering to physical principles. This allows us to provide tailored solutions that create value and competitive advantages for our Kuwaiti clients. Our global capabilities, combined with a deep understanding of the local market, enable us to deliver superior results.
What steps is Baker Hughes taking to decarbonise its operations in Kuwait?
Baker Hughes has led the path in decarbonisation, being amongst the first service companies globally to announce net zero carbon emissions by 2050, and we are working on several initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint of our ongoing operations. This includes leveraging cleaner energy sources, using electric power instead of fossil fuels and improving the efficiency of our existing processes through monitoring and enhancements.
Additionally, we are drawing on our global expertise in CCUS and geothermal energy to explore the feasibility of these applications with our clients in Kuwait. Our goal is to collaborate and enable shared emissions reduction targets.
What are the main factors that drive demand for your services in Kuwait?
KOC has ambitious oil production targets and is driving a significant magnitude of upcoming drilling and enhanced recovery projects. We are aligning our focus, engagement and technology capabilities to support KOC in achieving these targets.
Baker Hughes is geared to provide flawless execution in well construction and deploy advanced production solutions to best serve customer needs. Our tailored approach allows us to seamlessly partner with KOC and contribute to the successful delivery of their production growth objectives.
Can you share some elements of your growth plans beyond 2024 and the role Kuwait will play in the company’s overall strategy?
At Baker Hughes, we will leverage our comprehensive technology and expertise across well construction, completion, intervention and measurements, and production solutions to provide our customers in Kuwait with the fit-for-purpose solutions they need to meet their strategic KPIs.
