Arabian Drilling wins Aramco rig contract extension
AL KHOBAR, November 13, 2024 – Saudi drilling specialist Arabian Drilling has secured a contract extension from Saudi Aramco for one of its land rigs, the company announced on Wednesday.
Under the terms of the agreement, the rig’s engagement will be extended for a period of five years, starting immediately upon the conclusion of its current contract in Q4 2024. Arabian Drilling estimates the associated backlog for the extension to be approximately USD 78 million.
“We are very pleased with the latest Aramco contract extension, which is yet another multi-year tenure. This is a reflection of our ongoing long-term partnership with Saudi Aramco,” said Ghassan Mirdad, CEO of Arabian Drilling.
Arabian Drilling owns and manages a fleet of onshore and offshore rigs, which it contracts out to clients in the Middle East, including Aramco, Al Khafji Joint Operations, SLB and Baker Hughes.
