Kuwait’s KOC makes 800-million-barrel offshore oil find
KUWAIT CITY, January 20, 2025 – Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has made an offshore oil find estimated to hold 800 million barrels, the company told state media portal KUNA on Monday.
The Al Julaia offshore field holds oil that is of medium density and is free from hydrogen sulphide, KOC said.
The discovery also holds 17 bcm (600 bcf) of associated natural gas. The total reserves are estimated at 950 million boe.
KOC began its offshore exploration campaign several years ago, and after promising early results, contracted Halliburton to drill six wells over four years.
