ExxonMobil-led consortium welcomes Guyana’s fourth FPSO
GEORGETOWN, April 16, 2025 – An ExxonMobil-led consortium has begun installation of the One Guyana FPSO offshore Guyana to boost output from the prolific Stabroek block, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
The One Guyana FPSO, built by SBM Offshore and capable of producing 250,000 bpd, arrived in Guyanese waters this week following its departure from Singapore in February. Its installation will increase the consortium’s total production capacity to approximately 940,000 bpd later this year.
“Production from the Yellowtail project is expected to commence later this year following completion of installation and well activities,” ExxonMobil said in a statement.
The vessel will support development of the Yellowtail and Redtail oilfields, part of the prolific Stabroek block where over 11 billion barrels of recoverable hydrocarbons have been discovered. The ExxonMobil-led group, which oversees all production in the country, averaged 616,000 bpd in 2024 following recent facility upgrades. Two additional FPSOs are scheduled to arrive in the next two years.
In March, EnerMech announced it had secured a pre-commissioning contract from SBM Offshore for the One Guyana.
On Tuesday, One Guyana was located near ExxonMobil’s three operational FPSOs, according to LSEG shipping data. The arrival was confirmed by both ExxonMobil and Guyana’s Ministry of Natural Resources.
