Chevron Angola (CABGOC) joins Angola Energy Leaders Summit as Gold Sponsor

Chevron has been a key player in Angola’s oil and gas industry for more than 70 years through its affiliate Cabinda Gulf Oil Company (CABGOC). The company has played an instrumental role in the discovery, development and production of Angola’s offshore resources, particularly in Cabinda Province, where it operates both shallow-water and deepwater assets.
Chevron operates blocks 0 and 14 offshore Cabinda, which have made major contributions to Angola’s oil output for decades. The company’s commitment extends beyond production, encompassing enhanced oil recovery initiatives, mature field redevelopment and gas monetisation projects that support Angola’s long-term energy strategy.
Chevron has also been at the forefront of developing Angola’s gas infrastructure, including its participation in the Angola LNG project, a critical step in monetising associated gas, reducing flaring and supplying cleaner energy to domestic and international markets.
Beyond its operational footprint, Chevron is deeply involved in corporate social responsibility initiatives in Angola, with a focus on education, health, economic development and environmental stewardship. The company partners with local suppliers and contractors, contributing to Angola’s local content goals and building capacity in the national workforce.
In July 2025, underscoring its commitment to Angola, Chevron appointed Frank Cassulo as the new Managing Director of Chevron’s Southern Africa Strategic Business Unit. Cassulo brings vast experience in the sector and served prior as Chevron’s vice-president of international exploration and production in Singapore.
The Energy Leaders’ Summit 2025
Taking place on December 2 in Luanda, and held with the support of the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG), the Energy Leaders’ Summit will bring together Angola’s most senior energy executives and global investors.
This year’s edition is particularly significant as Angola marks 50 years of independence, highlighting the energy sector’s enduring contribution to national development and the opportunities ahead in a diversifying energy landscape.
