Arturo Méndez Hidalgo, CEO of Armebe Colombia, talks to The Energy Year about the company’s capacities and the expertise it brings to the Colombian market. Based in Mexico, Armebe is a manufacturer of LPG tanks and cylinders.

How would you describe the range and quality of Armebe’s LPG products?
Armebe boasts more than 75 years of experience in manufacturing LPG tanks and cylinders. As pioneers in Mexico, we specialise in the design and production of these products with the highest quality, adhering to both national and international standards.
Our certifications for our containers include those from Norma Oficial Mexicana, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the National Board and the Canadian Register Number. We also have an American Welding Society certification for our welders and welding processes.
All of our products are made from steel and finished with a painted coating. Our teams handle every stage of the process – including design, production, testing and distribution – to meet the needs of both domestic and international markets.
We have also developed a tailor-made approach where we craft products according to the needs of clients. Our product range includes mini-tanks in 10 different sizes; portable cylinders of 10, 20, 30 and 45 kilograms; fixed domestic tanks; stationary tanks; and storage tanks.

What value do you bring to the Colombian market?
In Colombia, we are ready to meet the needs of our customers. With offices in-country, we maintain a large inventory of tanks and cylinders available for immediate delivery and capable of distribution across the entire country. Additionally, we are authorised by ICONTEC in Colombia and are committed to strengthening our presence in this market by seeking clients such as gas distributors.
We manufacture our products at our plant in Mexico and ensure an efficient and timely service in Colombia with a delivery time of approximately two weeks. Our expertise is well established, as we have worked with the Colombian government on its cylinder replenishment programme, where we produced and shipped more than 1 million cylinders to the Colombian market. We are very eager to establish a stronger presence in Colombia in years to come.
