FAMAR

Famar is an Angolan company that provides marine bunkering and supply services with fuel management as their core operations. Founded in 2011, the company operates its own fleet.

Assets: Famar owns and develops a ship repair yard in Angola with dry dock capacity. Services at the yard include steelwork, piping, carpentry, coating and tank cleaning. Engineering services are also provided at the site for propulsion systems, valves and mechanical and electrical assets. The site consists of 35,000 square metres of onshore space and 80,000 square metres of offshore operations.

Clients: Famar has provided services to British Petroleum on blocks 18 and 31.

Strategy: Famar is positioning itself to become the supplier of choice as new tax regulations make Luanda more attractive to transit ships and new refineries. The company is actively chasing new contracts, especially for ships in transit off the Angolan coast.
