Gabon 2016 Strategic Roundtable

The Oil & Gas Year (TOGY) held its Gabon 2016 strategic roundtable at the Nomad hotel in Libreville recently.

This is TOGY’s 2nd Strategic Roundtable in Gabon, conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum and Hydrocarbons, EY and Economie Gabon+.

Speakers attending the event included Gabon’s Minister of Petroleum and Hydrocarbons Etienne Ngoubou, Jacqueline Bignoumba of Union Pétrolière Gabonaise, Total Gabon’s Henri-Max Ndong Nzue, EY’s Erik Watremez, Project Lawyers’ Jean-Pierre Bozec, Sogara refinery’s Pierre Reteno N’Diaye and Joseph-Denis Antchouey of Groupement Professionnel Pétrolier.

Attendees discussed the impact of the economic climate on the country’s energy industry and investment opportunities in the downstream sector. Ngoubou, emphasised the important role that operators throughout the hydrocarbons industry played in educating the local workforce. The petroleum and hydrocarbons minister went on to say that the Gabon Oil Company would play a pivotal role in the country’s initiative to reform the current oil and gas industry in light of declining oil prices.
