Abu Dhabi contract galore

Last Wednesday, the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company awarded four contracts, representing a total value of $3.5 billion, for work at Al Nasr and Umm Shaif offshore fields.

At Abu Dhabi’s International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference 2014, the National Petroleum Construction Company was awarded a $792-million contract for the engineering, procurement and construction work of Nasr Package 1, which involves the construction of seven wellhead towers, the laying of 110 kilometres of infield pipelines, a main export oil line of 70 kilometres and a 32-kilometre excess gas pipeline. The National Petroleum Construction Company also signed a $494-million contract for engineering, procurement and construction work at Umm Shaif in order to boost gas supply.

Hyundai Heavy Industries won the biggest contract, worth $1.938 billion, for Nasr Package 2, which includes the construction of the Al Nasr Super Complex (accommodation, gas treatment and separation platforms), the laying of subsea cables from Das Island’s power generation facilities to Al Nasr and existing Umm Shaif Super Complex and the construction of a power distribution platform at Umm Shaif.

Finally, Technip won a $206-million contract for project management consultancy services for Nasr Package 2.
