ADNOC increases rig count in bid to raise production

ABU DHABI, August 25, 2022 – ADNOC Drilling Company has signed a USD 70-million sale and purchase agreement for an offshore jackup rig as part of the country’s goal to raise oil production capacity to 5 million bpd by 2030, ADNOC’s drilling arm announced on Wednesday.

This is the fourth jackup rig bought by the contractor in 2022 after two rigs were purchased in May and one in June. All rigs are expected to join ADNOC Drilling Company’s fleet by the end of the year.

The latest purchase will bring the company’s jackup count to 28 units, making it the largest fleet of rigs in the Middle East and one of the largest in the world.
