ADNOC to up production of mature onshore fields
ABU DHABI, June 6, 2023 – Emirati NOC ADNOC has signed an EPCM contract with China Petroleum Engineering and Construction to up production at its mature onshore fields, Upstream Online reported on Tuesday.
Project Swing looks to up oil production from Bab, Northeast Bab and Southeast fields.
The scope of the contract involves retooling existing facilities and constructing water and gas injection assets.
The project will increase production at these fields by 20%.
The expansion is expected to be complete by September 2026, with 95% of the engineering completed in the first 15 months.
The deal falls under ADNOC’s target to up its overall production from 4 million bopd to 5 million bopd by 2027.
The Bab field is one of the company’s largest producing onshore fields and is located 160 kilometres from Abu Dhabi.
