Amec Foster Wheeler bags Kuwait contract

LONDON, March 10, 2017 – Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract for FEED and project management work on Kuwait’s fourth refinery, Al Zour.

The six-year contract will involve integrating the country’s Olefins III and Aromatics II plants with the refinery. Its value was not made public.

 

Kuwait Petroleum Corporation subsidiary Petrochemical Industries Company awarded the project to Amec Foster Wheeler, the UK company said in a press release on Friday.

Kuwait’s newest refinery, Al Zour has a design capacity of 615,000 bpd and is scheduled for completion in 2019. It will be able to process heavy oil, a commodity Kuwait is expanding its production of with new wells in the Ratqa field.

Amec Foster Wheeler is providing project management consultancy services for Kuwait’s two largest downstream projects, Al Zour and the Clean Fuel Project.
