The contract covers pre-FEED, FEED, project management and support services on the expansion project. Works include construction of a 300,000-bpd oil and gas separation train, a gas-processing plant, a cogeneration plant and upgrades to an existing facility for the inclusion of natural gas fractionation processes.
The offshore Marjan oilfield was first discovered in 1967, and originally contained an estimated 2.31 billion barrels of crude. The commercial field currently has an output of around 270,000 bopd.
In February 2017, Aramco began the process of issuing an EPC project order worth as much as USD 3.5 billion for its expansion project at the Marjan offshore and onshore oilfield. The revamp will see the field’s production ramped up to 300,000 bopd.
