Amerisur in Colombia discovery
BOGOTA, October 3, 2018 – Amerisur has successfully tested the Pintadillo-1 well in the Platanillo block in Colombia, the Latin America-focused E&P company announced on Wednesday.
Though the well, which was completed days ago, did not hit any hydrocarbons in its primary target in the N sands, it flowed 590 bopd from a secondary target in the T sands, where it encountered around 4.6 metres of net oil pay. The discovered crude has an API gravity of 30.4 degrees.
An additional pay of about 3.7 metres was identified in another secondary target in the U sands, the company added.
“This is an exciting and very positive result from Pintadillo-1, ahead of what we had expected,” said Amerisur CEO John Wardle. “Indeed, at current choked production levels, the well will pay back in under a year.”
