Amerisur in new Platanillo find
BOGOTA, December 14, 2017 – Amerisur has struck about 4 metres of net hydrocarbons resources in the Platanillo field in Colombia, the Latin America-focused E&P company announced on Thursday.
The Platanillo-27 medium deviation directional well was drilled to around 3,000 metres, the press release added.
“I am pleased to announce another good result on Pad 2N, the fourth successful well of our new Platanillo campaign, said CEO John Wardle. “I look forward to updating shareholders on the production performance of the well.”
The news came a day after Reuters reported that private oil companies were about to increase their investments in Colombia next year by 30-45%, to a total of up to USD 4.9 billion.
“We value the process of recuperation of the industry, but it’s a recuperation that is lower than expected and lower than what the country needs to look toward the future,” Francisco Jose Lloreda, president of the Colombian Petroleum Association, told the agency.
