Angola, Congo to raise Lianzi block output

The announcement came as Congo took over the management of the Unitisation Committee for the jointly held Lianzi block from Angola. The rotating leadership lasts one year and involves the co-ordination of the two countries’ technical structures, Angop reported.
“Angola and Congo have been able to reach the highest level, thanks to the heads of state of both countries, to find political agreements that make it possible to share cross-border resources without conflict,” Congolese Minister of Hydrocarbons Jean-Marc Thystère-Tchicaya told the media.
The Lianzi oilfield is located partly in the Republic of Congo’s Haute Mer permit and partly in Angola’s Block 14, about 105 kilometres offshore, on the border between the two nations.
