Angola oil and gas regulatory body launched
LUANDA, February 11, 2019 – Angola’s government has issued Presidential Decree 49/19, officially establishing the country’s National Oil and Gas Agency, local media reported on Friday.
The agency will take over NOC Sonangol’s role as state concessionaire of E&P blocks, as well as oversee hydrocarbons-related activities and contracts in Angola, industry publication Africa Oil & Power said.
In early June, the new agency is to hold its first bidding round for oil and gas blocks in the country.
