Bechtel wins FEED contract from Delfin

HOUSTON, August 5, 2015 – US engineering and construction company Bechtel announced on Tuesday that it has been awarded a front-end engineering and design contract by Delfin LNG for a floating LNG vessel to be located in the US Gulf of Mexico.
Delfin LNG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fairwood Peninsula Energy Corporation, will use the vessel to service its proposed Port Delfin, a deepwater port and floating LNG facility.
This project, which will be located about 80 kilometres off the coast of Louisiana, represents the first floating natural gas liquefaction facility in the US. The Delfin Offshore Pipeline will feed natural gas to the port, which is expected to initially produce 12.6 bcm (443.5 bcf) per year. The companies have yet to disclose the cost of the project or the front-end engineering and design phase.
