Bengal Energy makes onshore Australian discoveries

Australia

CALGARY, September 9, 2016 – Canadian player Bengal Energy recently made several new oil discoveries on its Cuisinier field in Australia’s Cooper basin, the company announced on Friday.

Bengal Energy announced that four out wells of a five-well drilling programme for 2016 have been cased. The latest well, Shefu-1, was drilled on the western flank of the Cuisinier petroleum lease 303 (PL 303), 3.6 km west of the field’s nearest development well, Cuisinier-17.

Production has not yet been tested at any of the four wells drilled as part of the Cuisinier 2016 drilling campaign, but these new finds could boost Cuisinier’s oil reserves.
The drilling rig is now moving to the last well of the campaign. Completion of the five wells and connection to existing infrastructure is expected for Q1 2017.

Bengal has a 30.357% working interest in the Barta Permit, ATP 752 and PL 303. Santos and Bridgeport hold the remaining stakes.
