BP signs drillship contract for work in Brazil

BRASíLIA, September 12, 2023 – Valaris has signed a contract with British energy giant BP for use of its drillship offshore Brazil, the Texas-headquartered offshore drilling contractor announced on Saturday.
The Valaris DS-15 will commence work on the undisclosed block for 80 days in late Q1 2024 or early Q2 2024.
The estimated value of the contract is USD 33 million.
Directly following the contract, the same vessel will continue work for TotalEnergies in Brazil as part of a price option for around 100 days.
The operating day rate on the option period with TotalEnergies is around USD 254,000.
