Subsea7 wins EPCI contract for Sépia 2 development in Brazil
RIO DE JANEIRO, April 10, 2026 – Subsea7 has secured an offshore EPCI contract from Petrobras for the Sépia 2 development in Brazil, Subsea7 announced on Thursday.
The scope covers EPCI and pre-commissioning of subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines for 17 wells, including two wells from the Sépia 1 project, as well as one gas export line with 18 risers. Subsea7 indicated the value of the contract is above USD 1.25 billion.
The Sépia field is located 280 kilometres southeast of Rio de Janeiro in water depths of about 2,170 metres, and has been in production since 2021 via the 180,000-bopd Carioca FPSO. The Sépia 2 project, one of the largest pre-salt expansion efforts in Brazil, reached a positive FID in May 2024 with a development plan that included a newbuild 225,000-bopd FPSO with all-electric configuration.
“This award strengthens Subsea7’s portfolio of projects in Brazil and reinforces our established relationship with Petrobras in the pre-salt. Through strong local content, disciplined execution and close collaboration, we support projects of national importance with predictable delivery,” said Yann Cottart, Subsea7 senior vice-president Brazil and Global Projects Centre West.
Subsea7 provides offshore engineering, construction and services for the energy industry. In 2025, Brazil accounted for 24% of the company’s revenue and 30% of its backlog.
