BP targets Q3 2017 for first Juniper gas

PORT OF SPAIN, November 24, 2016 – BP’s local subsidiary in Trinidad and Tobago, BPTT, is targeting the third quarter of 2017 for first gas from the offshore Juniper project, the company told TOGY on Thursday.
According to BPTT, the project, which seeks to tap the Corallita and Lantana fields, is now 83% complete. The work is taking place some 80 kilometres off Trinidad’s southeastern coast in around 107 metres of water and marks the country’s first subsea field development. The project has a production capacity of 16.7 mcm (590 mcf) per day.
“Although it [initial production] will not satisfy all the demands, it will mitigate the shortfalls that currently exist. Juniper coming in as predicted or proposed in terms of production as well as its timeframe is very important,” BPTT President Norman Christie told TOGY.
