Brazil’s Petrobras signs contract for FSRU

Excelerate Energy has signed a contract with Petrobas for an FSRU, the US LNG technology provider announced on Thursday.

The FSRU is bound for the Guanabara Bay LNG terminal in the state of Bahia.

“Once the financial and legal qualification and certification stages have been concluded and all necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained, Excelerate will start importing LNG and selling regasified natural gas to its Brazilian customers,” the company said.

Although financial details were not included in the press release, the bid is a revision of a USD 17.6-million proposal.
