BW Offshore sells FPSO to Nigerian entity

ABUJA, September 18, 2023 – BW Offshore has sold the Nigeria-based Abo FPSO to Nigerian Transport Group for USD 20 million, the international FPSO owner and operator announced on Friday.

The vessel was constructed in 1976 under the name Gray Warrior and underwent conversion at Keppel Shipyard before beginning operations in 2003 at the offshore Abo field in Nigeria.

 

According to the World Energy Reports, the FPSO has the capacity to process 44,000 bopd and 1.25 mcm (44 mcf) per day of gas.

The Abo field is located 40 kilometres from the Nigerian coast on the edge of the Niger Delta on the OML 125 concession.

The block is operated by Italian energy giant Eni under its subsidiary Nigerian Agip Exploration with an 85% interest alongside partner Oando Energy Resources with the remaining shares.
