China

BEIJING, May 12, 2017 – China is nearing the completion of pipeline sections connecting the country to major Russian conduits, an official from Heilongijang province was quoted as saying on Friday.

According to Vice-Governor Li Haitao, the completion of the Chinese section of the East Siberia Pacific Ocean project’s second 300,000 bopd pipeline is some 18 months away.

By year-end 2018, China’s end of the Russia-China gas pipeline, commonly referred to as the Power of Siberia project, should also be completed, Li told Reuters.

The two domestic pipeline construction project are being carried out by CNPC. The NOC is also working to build a feeder line to a planned greenfield joint venture refinery and petrochemicals facility across the border in Russia.

The USD 870-million complex is to supply China with refined products and fuel. Tianlangxing Power Equipment Company is investing in the project.
