RABAT, October 28, 2015 – Circle Oil discovered gas at the Caid El Gaddari-13 wildcat on the Sebout permit, the Irish exploration and production independent said Tuesday.

The company recorded that the exploration well hit a 5.9-metre net pay in the Miocene sandstones at a flow rate of 126,000 cubic metres (4.45 mcf) of gas per day. CGD-13 represents the company’s last well in its drilling programme for the 2014-2015 year.

Located 320 metres northwest of the Kenitra pipeline, its closest tie-in point, the gas from the well will be brought into production and transported via the pipeline to customers in the area.

The company had lowered its drilling costs by 30 percent in its 2014-2015 drilling campaign, which saw six discoveries from the 10 total wells drilled.

Circle holds a 75-percent interest and operates the Rharb Basin’s Sebou and Lalla Mimouna permits, with the state-owned Office for Mining and Hydrocarbons holding the remaining 25-percent stake in each permit.
