Dodsal upgrades Tanzania gas find

UAE conglomerate Dodsal Group has upgraded its February 2016 Ruvu Basin gas find, the company reported on Monday. Initially estimated at 61.5 bcm (2.17 tcf) in potential gas reserves, the find has now been upgraded to around 76.5 bcm (2.7 tcf).

Tanzania’s biggest onshore gas discovery to date, the deposits are valued at USD 8 billion. Dodsal’s recent studies into the resource volume noted a possible upside of nearly 108 bcm (3.8 tcf) or USD 11 billion.

Dodsal Group’s investment in Tanzania’s coastal region to date stands at USD 200 million, with another USD 300 million earmarked for investment through year-end 2017.
