Dos Santos son removed from Angolan SWF

LUANDA, January 11, 2018 – Angolan President João Lourenço replaced José Filomeno dos Santos, son of former President José Eduardo dos Santos, as head of the country’s sovereign wealth fund Wednesday.

President Lourenço said the move came following an external inquiry into the performance and governance of the fund. The entire board is being replaced, with former Finance Minister Carlos Alberto Lopes taking over the chairmanship.

President Lourenço removed Isabel dos Santos, daughter of the former president, from her post as head of <a href='https://staging.theenergyyear.com/companies-institutions/sonangol/’>Sonangol in November.
