Dussafu sidetrack hits oil in Gabon

OSLO, September 27, 2018 – BW Offshore has struck 34 metres of oil pay in a sidetrack on the Dussafu licence offshore Gabon, the company announced on Thursday.
The original DRNEM-1 well encountered 40 metres of hydrocarbons deposits in the Gamba and Dentale formations of the Ruche North East structure prior to the drilling of the sidetrack, the company statement added.
“The positive results of the Ruche North East well further confirms the upside potential for the Dussafu licence,” said CEO Carl Arnet. “By combining our deep knowledge of the area, our resources and a well-suited FPSO, we are about to transform the Dussafu licence into a significant producing asset with considerable upside.”
