MUSCAT, January 14, 2019 – Eni has signed a PSA for Block 47 and a Heads of Agreement to acquire Block 77 onshore Oman, the super-major announced on Monday.

Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production, known as OOCEP, will be Eni’s sole partner in Block 47, with a 10% stake. Eni and BP are to each hold 50% stakes in the Block 77 licence, with Eni as operator, the company statement added.

“Following the signature of the HoA [Heads of Agreement], the Exploration and Production-Sharing Agreement (EPSA) will follow shortly,” Eni said. “The signature of Block 47 EPSA and Block 77 HoA, represents a further step in Eni’s strategy to reinforce its presence in the Sultanate of Oman and strengthen the collaboration with OOCEP, which is Eni’s partner also in Block 52.”
