Eni launches phase 2 production from Côte d’Ivoire project
Côte d’Ivoire YAMOUSSOUKRO, December 30, 2024 – Eni has launched production from phase 2 of its Baleine project offshore Côte d’Ivoire, the Italian company announced on Saturday.
The phase will bring output to 60,000 boepd and 1.98 mcm (70 mcf) per day of associated gas.
Phase 2 will deploy Petrojarl Kong FPSO deployed alongside the Yamoussoukro FSO for the export of oil.
Meanwhile, all of the project’s processed gas will be piped through a pipeline built during the initial phase and dedicated to meeting local energy demand.
Eni started production from phase 1 of the project in August 2023.
The first phase involves production from the Baleine FPSO, which has a capacity of 15,000 bopd and 708,000 cubic metres (25 mcf) per day of gas.
A third phase of the project – currently under study – will bring total production to 150,000 bopd and 5.66 mcm (200 mcf) per day of associated gas.
Discovered in 2021, the Baleine field is the largest oil and gas find in the country with estimated resources of 2.5 billion barrels and 93.5 bcm (3.3 tcf) of associated gas.
