Eni raises Angola’s offshore reserves
LUANDA, March 30, 2022 – Eni has upped its field estimates at the Ndungu field in Angola after drilling an appraisal well, the Italian super-major announced on Monday.
Data collected from the Ndungu 2 exploration well saw resources climb from between an estimated 250 million to 300 million boe in place to between 800 million and 1 billion boe in place.
The find – together with exploration works on the Agogo field – is the largest on Block 15/16 since Eni took on the concession licence.
Early production began on the Ndungu field in February 2022, with a second producing well planned for Q4 2022.
Block 15/6 is operated by Eni with a 36.84% share, with NOC Sonangol holding a 36.84% stake and independent SSI Fifteen holding the remaining 26.32% stake.
