Eni seeking FPSO for billion-barrel Angola field

LUANDA, July 29, 2021 – Eni is seeking an FPSO vessel for its operated deepwater Agogo field in Angola’s Block 15/06.

The company has discovered more than 5 billion barrels of oil in the block, including around 1 million in the Agogo field, and aims to revive output after hitting a peak production of around 150,000 boepd in 2018.

The super-major has issued four expression of interest (EoI) documents for the vessel and subsea equipment, Upstream Online reported on Thursday.

“Block 15/06 has been one of the biggest success stories in the history of Eni,” Eni Angola managing director Matteo Bacchini told The Energy Year in January. Bacchini said the company was “setting up aggressive plans to restart programmes in Block 15/06, on both the exploration and development fronts.”

The Agogo field is producing around 20,000 bopd, fed to a nearby FPSO via a 15-kilometre flowline.
