Eni taps Pacific Drilling for Nigeria

Eni has contracted Pacific Drilling for deepwater work in Nigeria, the drilling contractor announced Monday.

The Pacific Bora has been hired to drill one well with an option for two additional wells starting in mid- to late November.

“We are pleased to have secured this contract for the Bora which reflects our substantial experience in Nigeria and our uninterrupted commitment to providing exceptional drilling services to our clients,” CEO Paul Reese said in a company statement.

The sixth-generation deepwater, dynamically positioned drillship can drill more than 11,200 metres in waters up to 30,500 metres deep.
