ETP to up Arguelles transport capacity

Dallas-based Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) is holding an open season to bring an additional 849,600 cubic metres (30 mcf) per day of transport capacity to its Arguelles pipeline, international media reported Wednesday.

Hoping to confirm shippers by August 7, ETP said the additional capacity should be available by August 13, bringing the 24-inch pipeline’s transport capacity to 7.8 mcm (250 mcf) per day. Arguelles connects with ETP’s Edinburg Extension at the US border with Mexico, running down 2.2 kilometres and terminating at the Arguelles compressor station on the Sistrangas network.

The open season proposal was approved by Mexican energy regulators in mid-May.
