ExxonMobil starts production at Guyana’s Yellowtail
GEORGETOWN, August 11, 2025 – ExxonMobil Guyana has started production at the Yellowtail development in the offshore Stabroek block, taking the country’s total installed capacity above 900,000 bopd, the company said on Friday.
The ONE GUYANA FPSO is the largest on the block to date with an initial annual average output of 250,000 bopd and storage for 2 million barrels.
Oil will be marketed as Golden Arrowhead crude.
“Yellowtail’s ahead-of-schedule startup is a significant milestone for ExxonMobil and the people of Guyana,” ExxonMobil Upstream Company president Dan Ammann said.
“With Guyanese making up more than 67% of the country’s oil-and-gas workforce and over 2,000 local businesses engaged, this project reflects our deepening roots in the country.”
By 2030, ExxonMobil Guyana aims for 1.7 million boepd from eight developments. The company operates the Stabroek block with 45% interest, alongside Hess Guyana Exploration with 30% and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana with 25%.
ExxonMobil Guyana has rapidly developed the Stabroek block since its first oil in 2019, bringing four FPSOs online in five years. The company is advancing four more deepwater projects and has consistently delivered developments under budget and ahead of schedule, making Guyana a key growth hub in its global portfolio.
