Five firms request Indonesia extensions

JAKARTA, May 15, 2018 – Five operators in Indonesia have requested contract extensions for their oil blocks, an Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry official said Monday.

“All existing contractors have submitted their proposals, except ConocoPhillips. The company will submit its proposal with a gross-split scheme,” the ministry’s oil and gas director-general, Djoko Siswanto, was quoted as saying by The Jakarta Post.

Pertamina applied for an extension for the Salawati block, Energi Mega Persada for the Malaka Strait block, Chevron Indonesia for the Makassar Strait block, Petrogas for the Kepala Burung block and Lapindo Brantas for the Brantas block. ConocoPhillips has until June to apply for an extension on its operated South Jambi block.
