Four injured in Kazakhstan refinery blast

Four people were injured on Wednesday, when an explosion at a refinery belonging to Vernal Oil Kazakhstan occurred. A government representative of Mugalzhar District said the blast at the town of Kandyagash, located around 100 kilometres from Aktobe, forced the plant to shut down.

Vernal Oilhas yet to provide information regarding reasons behind the incident. The oil and gas industry’s safety record in Kazakhstan is improving, but frequent incidents have harmed personnel and damaged assets.
