Fugro chosen for seismic services in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, April 18, 2023 – Fugro has been awarded a contract for offshore surveys in one of the UAE’s largest long-term field development programmes, the Dutch geotechnical entity announced on Monday.

Works will involve offshore surveys including geophysical, geotechnical, ROV inspections. Scope of the project consists of an approximately 600-kilometre pipeline route with 800 crossings, 49 jacket surveys and island offshore surveys.

The company is set to begin works in April 2023.

 

“We are delighted to be supporting a project of such calibre,” said Tim Lyle, group director for the Middle East and India of Fugro.

“This significant award will allow Fugro to support our client’s vision and sustainability targets whilst strengthening our commitment to in-country value by working closely with our local supply chain.”

The associated operator, specific fields and cost of the contract were not disclosed.

Emirati NOC ADNOC has committed to spending USD 150 billion over a five-year period in its mission to reach production of 5 million bopd by 2027.
