NEW SOUTH WALES, June 14, 2024 – Inpex-Enel joint venture Enel Green Power Australia (EGPA) has reached a final investment decision on a solar and battery storage project in Australia, Inpex announced on Friday.

The Quorn Park Hybrid Project will provide a power supply combining a 98 MWdc (80 MWac) of photovoltaic power generation and 20-MW/40-MWh battery energy storage system connected to a grid.

The company termed it “one of the most advanced hybrid projects in Australia.”

The construction of the Quorn Park Hybrid Project will require an investment of more than USD 190 million, according to EGPA.

Located in New South Wales,  approximately 10 kilometres northwest of Parkes, the project “is expected to help maximize revenue and stabilize the grid by efficiently charging and dispatching electricity generated from solar power and regulating the electricity sent to the grid, Inpex said.

Inpex acquired 50% of shares in EGPA from Enel Green Power, a subsidiary of Italian utility company Enel, in September 2023.
