Iran

BAGHDAD, January 11, 2017 – Iranian and Iraqi officials are in talks over the joint development of common fields, an Iranian deputy petroleum minister was reported to have said on Wednesday.

Iran’s deputy petroleum minister in international affairs and trading, Amir Hossein Zamaninia, commented on the talks during a visit to Iraq as part of an Iranian delegation.

The Parviz and Khorramshahr oilfields were named as prospective joint projects.

Iranian media reported that Zamaninia also anticipates an MoU on co-operation on gas exports, manufacturing and Iranian private contractors’ involvement in the renovation of Iraqi refineries.

Iran’s Parviz field is known in Iraq as Naft Khaneh, while Khorramshahr has a counterpart in the Sinbad field.
