Kuwait appoints new oil minister

KUWAIT CITY, December 11, 2017 – Kuwait has appointed new oil and finance ministers, international media reported on Monday.
Bakheet Al Rashidi will head the Ministry of Oil, replacing Essam Al Marzouq, Reuters reported, citing state news agency KUNA. Al Rashidi was previously head of Kuwait Petroleum International, the international arm of state refiner Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.
No reason was given for the replacement. Marzouq had been at the post since December 2016.
