Kuwait’s HEISCO wins EPC work at Aramco facility
KUWAIT CITY, March 19, 2025 – Kuwait’s Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding Co. (HEISCO) has been awarded a contract by Egyptian EPC company Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industries (Enppi) for civil and mechanical engineering services at Abqaiq oilfield in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, HEISCO announced on Monday.
Cairo-based Enppi is the main contractor in a project to de-bottleneck the existing production facilities at Saudi Aramco’s Abqaiq oilfield. In a disclosure to Boursa Kuwait, HEISCO indicated it would be completing a civil and mechanical engineering package valued at USD 69.5 million.
The project has a stipulated duration of 865 days, according to HEISCO’s announcement.
Abqaiq is Aramco’s largest oil processing facility and the main processing centre for Arabian Extra Light and Arabian Light crude oils. In recent years, Aramco has been carrying out Fourth Industrial Revolution improvements on the ageing installations, including the incorporation of automation systems and robotics.
